How efficiently and rapidly a person consumes energy during exercise depends on a collection of physiological and environmental dynamics:
1. Body Mass & Overall Composition
An individual with greater total body mass burns significantly more calories—even at rest—because moving a heavier mass requires higher exertion. Additionally, lean muscle tissue is metabolically more active than fat tissue, increasing passive energy expenditure.
2. Exercise Duration and Workout Intensity
