Free Online Gematria & Numerology Calculator
Gematria is the practice of assigning a numeric value to letters, then adding up the letters in a word or phrase to get a total. This free calculator computes several common English-letter ciphers instantly as you type, with no signup and no limits.
Ciphers included
- Ordinal — the simplest cipher: a=1, b=2, c=3 ... z=26.
- Reduction — each letter's Ordinal value is reduced by adding its digits together until a single digit remains (e.g. 26 → 2+6 = 8).
- Reverse — Ordinal counted backwards: a=26, b=25 ... z=1.
- Reverse Reduction — the Reverse value of each letter, reduced to a single digit.
- Sumerian — Ordinal value multiplied by 6.
- Reverse Sumerian — Reverse value multiplied by 6.
- Baconian — a zero-indexed alphabet: a=0, b=1 ... z=25.
- Trigonal — the triangular number of each letter's Ordinal position.

- Does capitalization or punctuation matter?
- No — the calculator is case-insensitive and automatically ignores spaces and punctuation.
- Can I calculate a full sentence?
- Yes, there's no length limit — word and phrase totals both work.
