Free Online PDF to Excel Converter
This tool converts tables inside a PDF file into a genuine Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheet. Unlike image-based tools, it reads the actual text and its exact coordinates straight from the PDF, which usually gives more accurate results than OCR — especially for PDFs that were generated digitally (not scanned).
How it works
Upload a PDF. The tool reads every line of text along with its X/Y position on the page, groups text that sits on the same horizontal line into a row, then looks at the horizontal spacing between text blocks to decide where one column ends and the next begins. Multi-page PDFs are supported — each page's rows are appended in order.
Best for
- Digitally generated PDFs (invoices, reports, exported data, bank/ credit-card statements)
- PDFs with clearly spaced columns
- Multi-page documents
Note: for scanned/photographed PDFs with no real text layer, use the JPG to Excel OCR tool instead.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this work on scanned PDFs?
- Only if the PDF has a real, selectable text layer. Purely scanned/image-only PDFs have no extractable text — try the JPG to Excel tool for those instead.
- Can I fix the table before downloading?
- Yes, every cell in the preview is editable.
- Are multi-page PDFs supported?
- Yes, all pages are processed and combined into one spreadsheet, with a blank row separating each page.
